I’ve been busy the last week, with work and with going back and forward to the hospital visiting my grandma. Not gonna lie it’s been an emotional rollercoaster, which is slowing down and we’re hopeful she’ll be back at home soon.
With life being bit of a mess makeup has sort of being put on manually, without deviation from my routine except my foundation. I’ve been reaching for the Conceal & Define Foundation (£9) from Makeup Revolution, at first mainly because of the ease of application with the ginormous doe foot applicator. I just couldn’t be bothered with the whole faff of squirting foundation onto the back of my hand, next level lazy, I know.
My go to foundation is Lancôme’s Teint Idole Ultra and it’s a whopping £32… it lasts three(ish) months but every time I order a new one I wonder if there’s a cheaper option out there. For me, my foundation needs to be full coverage, blend down nicely and be long lasting. These three qualities are just something I never seem to find when it comes to trying lower end foundations from the likes of The Ordinary and Maybelline. Even the previous Revolution foundation, Fast Base (£5) everyone was raving about didn’t do it for me.
BUT this foundation… It’s thick. It’s pigmented. And it’s only £9! The packing and the formula really parallels that of the internet breaking Conceal & Define Concealer (£4) which I’m already a massive fan of. It dries down to a full matte, so work quickly when blending. If you’ve got drier skin like me, make sure you opt for a moisturising primer, my fave one atm is Too Faced’s Hangover Primer (£27).
I’m wearing the shade F3, and I’m mega pale and there’s still lighter shades!
The foundation worked great and was hassle free. And it just made me feel good, when I wasn’t feeling great on the inside and sometimes you just need that little boost in yourself to help you get through. For me, having my face on helps me face the world. Guess it’s my armour LOL.
How’s your week going? You loving Revolution products too atm?- Be sure to comment to let me know!
